India: Graphite electrode prices rise by INR 20,000/t for Q1CY'22

Domestic graphite electrode (GE) prices have risen by INR 20,000/t ($268/t) for the Jan-Mar'22 quarter, SteelMint learnt from sources. The price of 450mm HP grade electrodes stands at INR 3,10,000/t ($4,155/t), whereas 600mm UHP grade material is assessed at INR 3,85,000/t ($5,160/t). Domestic suppliers have raised prices amidst a demand-supply imbalance in the market and increasing prices of the key raw material, needle coke.
